Review: Get out and enjoy the movie theaters like the old days! it's so much fun....honestly, I'm not sure how Chandler and Hannah snuck me into the theater for this one! All in all the film is sad. I'm not a fan of cats at all but the loss of Chadwick Boseman certainly hits close to home. It's hard to be as excited about the franchise knowing that he is gone but the cast did a good job here.
Chandler's Score:
6/10
Review: I simply was not impressed with the villain in this film. It really felt like he and his people were not formidable foes especially when he flies around like Cupid. Also, let's be honest and call it like it is here: they come from Atlantis. That seems a little too close to the Aquaman franchise for me. Also, the film just could not bring closure for the real life tragedy ending Black Panther as we know him even though it seemed to attempt to provide it in the opening scenes. Fast and Furious fans will likely appreciate the closure for Paul Walker more! In Wakanda Forever, the end was once again overshadowed with sadness at a time in the movie when it really did not have to be! With that said, stay for the scenes following the credits. Those were the hope-filled moments I think the film could have and should have actually ended on. Seeing those scenes helps a lot!
Hannah's Score:
8/10
Review: Wow! I walked into this movie expecting to be underwhelmed and they blew it out of the water. The angle of women in power standing with a heart of humility was greatly lacking on the big screen. The journey of pain, power, and preservation that you get to see the characters navigate through feels authentic. While the movie moves slow in aspects sometimes sitting in the emotion with the characters through one tedious conversation after another is the only way to really connect. This truly does make you want to shout Wakanda Forever.
